Hardware is being fabricated at Langley prior to airlifting to Kennedy Space Center for flight test next year. Pictured is a major element of the Ares I-X Crew Module/Launch Abort System simulator. The elements will simulate the topmost parts of the Ares I-X, the rocket designed to demonstrate technologies for NASA’s next generation of crewed spacecraft. For high-resolution images click here.
