Checking it twice

Will we get December 26 off?

Often the official announcement comes after everyone has already heard of it through the news media. So I checked. No news. But here are a few thoughts from FedSmith.com, a site devoted to all things federal:

Do you feel rudderless? (or not?)

Today’s Washington Post has a front-page article headlined “Widespread Complaints About a Rudderless Government.” Here’s the first paragraph:

When President Obama takes over in January as manager-in-chief of nearly 2 million federal employees, he will need a plan to reinvigorate a frustrated and demoralized workforce, career employees warn.
